About Us

A community-wide effort is building to improve the present reality for students attending public schools across Dallas and Fort Worth. Teach For America partners with local school districts, universities, and other nonprofits to raise the bar for teacher training and student learning. By pursuing what is best for kids, our corps members and alumni are working with the local community to create lasting change for all students in the Metroplex. A growing number of our corps members hail from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with 34 percent returning home to contribute to their communities. Others are new to the region but are attracted to DFW for its diversity, dynamism, and a well-earned reputation for determination.

About Our Partnerships

Teach For America is proud to work with four primary district partners across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex: Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Uplift Education, and KIPP DFW. With Dallas ISD as Teach For America’s largest district partner in 2016, this district accounts for 60 percent of where our corps members work. Our university partners include Southern Methodist University in Dallas and Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. Our community partners include Momentous Institute, Border Crossers, and Big Thought.

About Our Community

Regardless of where you work, you will find that the Texas cliché of southern hospitality rings true. Dallas and Fort Worth warmly welcome anyone who is willing to put in the effort to improve the lives of the next generation. We are proud and fortunate to receive support from our community’s leadership—from mayors and superintendents to principals and parents. Together, we are working together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
